Good strong tools

Arrived crushed from UPS, but the hard plastic case protected it. Tools are nice, I didn't wantthe LCT white tools, and I wanted the better 3amp hour batteries. I am not crazy about the light though, it has a awkward hand strap, I maybe would have been happier with the flashlight and I may get it as well as the bare tool recip saw. The tools are of really good quality no wobble like the Milwaukee, and holds the bits tightly. Haven't had a battery go dead yet. I really like it, what a step up from my old Hitachi 14.4 Nicad. The drill has a hammer drill on it. The impact is really light and powerful.

I received this item as a gift. Previously Makita was not a brand I would necessarily pick when shopping for tools simply because I was not familiar with them. This kit has certainly changed my mind. The tools run smooth as butter, and the included charger even has a fan to keep the batteries cool while charging. The included belt clips on the tools are an intelligent touch, and are designed for thick belts. If they break, they are also replaceable. That's a word that isn't even in most people's vocabulary anymore. Yes folks, when it breaks, you can replace the belt clip without buying a whole new tool. Overall, I think I'm hooked on Makita. Only time will tell with durability, but all the peices of this kit fell much more solid then any of the other Dewalt, Milwaukee (even the good old ones), or other tools I've had.
